More heavy snowfall in the Trøndelag counties on Sunday has increased the danger of avalanches both there and in many other areas along the Norwegian coast, also in the north and west.
In the Trøndelag ski resort of Oppdal a 50 metre wide avalanche was released by two off-piste skiers on Sunday. One of them was partly buried in the snow, but was rescued by his friend.
In Sunndal schools were closed M onday morning, due to the danger of avalanches hitting roads in the district.
Many roads have been closed both in the north and west, due to the danger of snow and rock slides.

In western and central Norway most of the main roads were re-opened by Saturday morning. However, there is still a threat of new avalanches, and several roads may be closed at short notice.
