Monthly earnings up 3.2 per cent

Average monthly earnings for all Norwegian employees, excluding overtime pay, were NOK 42 300 per 3rd quarter 2014. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 300 or 3.2 per cent.

 

Full-time employees had average monthly earnings of NOK 43 800, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 300 or 3.1 per cent from 2013. Monthly earnings for part-time employees were NOK 34 900, which was a rise of NOK 1 100 or 3.3 per cent, according to Statistics Norway (SSB).

Average monthly earnings for all men were NOK 44 900 in 2014, while corresponding earnings for women were NOK 38 800. This is a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 200 or 2.7 per cent for men and NOK 1300 or 3.5 per cent for women.

Average monthly earnings for women as per cent of average monthly earnings for men increased from 85.8 per cent per 3rd quarter in 2013 to 86.4 per cent per 3rd quarter in 2014. In the public sector there was an increase from 88.5 to 88.9 per cent, while in the private sector the percentage increased from 84.2 per cent in 2013 to 84.4 per cent in 2014.

Average monthly earnings for senior officials and managers were NOK 63 400, excluding overtime pay, in 2014.This was an increase of NOK 1 700 or 2.8 per cent from 2013.

Professionals and technicians and associate professionals had monthly earnings of NOK 52 000 and NOK 44 900, respectively in 2014. For professionals the increase was NOK 1 500 or 3.0 per cent, where as technicians and associate professionals had a rise of NOK 1 200 or 2.7 per cent from 2013, SSB reports.
